Gone Fishing

Right before new years I was invited to go fishing with my neighbor on his sportfish. It was a three day trip to the Bahamas and we just anchored up on the reef to sleep every night. I got to spend the last three days of the year in the Bahamas fishing.

I had a portrait assignment for school so I decided to photograph people who went out on charter boats. All shot at Marina jack in Sarasota, FL. These are my favorites. Actually shot digital again which I haven't done in a while.

Mt. Hood

While I was in Oregon I got to check out Mt. Hood. It was my first time on a show covered mountain, I can't wait to go back. Images shot with Hasselblad 500c with Kodak Portra.

Portland Neighborhood

This past December I went to Portland, Oregon to intern with photographer Corey Arnold. He was nice enough to let me stay at his house. These are other houses in his neighborhood. Shot on Hasselblad 500c with Kodak Portra. 

Burnside Skatepark

I had a short trip to Portland, Oregon this past December. While I was there I checked out Burnside skatepark and fired a few shots. All Images shot on Hasselblad 500c with Kodak Portra film.

Road Kill

This image was taken the same night as the cone photos. I was heading out at around 4:00 am and saw this snake run over by my house. Parked and hopped out real quick and was lucky to shoot a sixty second exposure on the road without any cars driving by. Also shot on Kodak Portra 160.

Coned

I found this traffic cone and brought it with me to shoot one night. These are all long exposures of about sixty seconds shot on a foggy night with Kodak Porta 160.

Photochoppin

Just some exercises done for my Digital II class. The kitchen is 19 images merged into the one panoramic. The bathroom is a before and after just showing what I took out and how I cleaned it up. 

Narrative

These were shot for a narrative series for my staged photo class. These are from my grandparents house in Bonita Springs, FL, it's in an old retirement community and is empty most of the year. It was empty when I shot which is the only reason I got to spill beer all over the shed. Shot on Portra 160 35mm.

4x5 Polaroid

These are from my first experience shooting 4x5. I got a pack of polaroids from my teacher and shot these while I was shooting another project on 35mm. The polaroids were really fun to shoot, I didn't realize how dusty they get. The last chair photo was my second shot with the 4x5, pretty happy with that one. 

Galaxie 500 LTD

One of my roommates is a film major at my school. The past weekend he shot his film and was able get get an original Ford Galaxie 500 LTD. I was hanging around on set and taking some set photos for him. I saw the car and ran home and grabbed my film camera and a roll of Portra 160. I put them in the grid format because I liked the idea of almost building the car through the photos I took at all angles.

This past summer I bought a GoPro camera, which is a small waterproof camera designed for shooting action sports. I took it fishing a few times and diving with me once. The footage was just sitting on my hard drive so I decided to throw it all together. Shot in Ft. Pierce, FL and Matanilla Shoal, The Bahamas.

Garden State Exercise

This image was shot on a plain grey background and I was wearing a plain grey shirt. I found the pattern online and applied it to the background as well as on my shirt. This was an exercise for one of my classes, it turned out to be really fun and interesting. The inspiration was from the movie "Garden State" where there was a photo like this done to Zach Braff. 

Retouching

These are a start to a series of portraits I am shooting in the studio using the widest aperture as possible, these were shot at f/2.2. I did a lot of manipulation in photoshop to try and practice some new techniques. Overall I color corrected, enlarged eyes and mouths on all three photos, adjusted some aspects of the face and cleaned their overall face. I don't like manipulating photos but this was something I wanted to try. I am going to reshoot these with a ring-flash and now manipulate them.
